BMS x UKEC: Young Professionals Mentorship Programme

Overview

In collaboration with the British Malaysian Society (BMS), the UKECareers Office will support the 2027 Student Mentorship Programme, an annual initiative that connects Malaysian students in the UK and Ireland with experienced professionals and alumni across diverse industries, including law, engineering, business, finance, academia, and the creative arts.

Programme Background and Impact

Running since 2019, the BMS Mentorship Programme strengthens students’ career development, employability, and professional networks through personalized one-to-one guidance. Mentees benefit from tailored advice focused on career advancement, personal growth, and navigating life abroad, guided by mentors established within their respective fields.

Launch Event and Collaboration

UKEC will assist with event structure and promotional outreach for the BMS "Kickstart Your Mentorship Initiation Day", scheduled for November 2026 at King’s College London. This half-day flagship event launches the mentorship cycle, fostering cross-industry connections, facilitating insight exchange, and inspiring a proactive mentorship culture among Malaysian students across the UK and Ireland.
