Scotland Malaysian Career Summit

A full-day career summit in Scotland for Malaysian students who would otherwise have to travel to London for TMCF. Hosted towards the end of April every year.
Overview
The Scotland Malaysian Career Summit (SMCS) is a large-scale regional event designed to provide Malaysian students based in Scotland with direct access to UKEC sponsors, partners, and affiliates. By bringing employers directly to the region, SMCS removes the need for long-distance travel to TMCF in London, ensuring local students receive equitable engagement and career support.
The summit allows employers to tap into Scotland-based talent while offering attendees career support through workshops, team-building activities, and practical skill-building sessions. It also serves as an entry point for first-year students seeking early exposure to Malaysian industry pathways. Hosted as a full-day event exclusively for UKEC sponsors, partners, and affiliates, SMCS is organized collaboratively between the UKECareers Office and the Regional Chairperson (RC) Scotland team.
Programme Structure
The summit features three core components:
Career Fair
Participating employers host dedicated exhibition booths where students can interact directly with hiring teams, submit their CVs, and explore available internship and graduate opportunities.
Engagement Sessions
Employers lead interactive presentations exploring operational structures, workplace culture, and recruitment processes. These sessions foster candid, small-group dialogue between company representatives and students.
On-the-Spot Interview Sessions
Selected companies run on-site screening and interview rounds during the summit, offering qualified candidates an accelerated path toward internship and graduate placements.
